bec… 20 weeks

half way! sometime towards the end of the coming twenty weeks, bec will bring our third little blessing into the world and life will change, once again. I must say that I am truly enjoying quietly watching bec, addie & spencer see bec’s tummy grow (that bump is surely coming along now) and watching as the kids slowly begin to realise that there really is a brand new baby brother or sister growing in there that they we will all be able to meet… pretty soon! around here, summer has arrived with winter like temperatures, clouds, rain… and in our house, two sick little kids and a sick pregnant lady. earlier in the week though, we grabbed a bit of time and wandered down the road where we admired the sea and explored some of its shore… collected, ran, jumped, got our feet wet, created drawings on rocks and breathed in the sea air (spence may have spent considerable time in awe of a concrete truck as well)…

the pogmore family…

a bit over a moth ago now, I shared with you some of the time I spent with sherridan, scott & willow, as they welcomed their new twin daughters (and twin sisters in willow’s case) into the world. a couple of weeks ago, I spent some more time with these guys, now settling in to their new life at home. I know sherridan & scott are sleep deprived. you could never tell. I know that they are feeling busy and tired. you could never tell. what you could tell… is how much they completely & utterly adore myla indigo & macy jade. I don’t know how they do it… but they truly make it look easy! they do what parents do. they do what family does. they love and support each other and their three beautiful little girls. they’ve got such a story to tell… and three adorable little girls to tell it about. but seriously… how they make it look so easy (and I know it’s not)… I’ll never know!

bec… 16 weeks

there are so many places just around the corner from home that hold a special place and a special piece of the story of my life so far. the last time that I had some photos taken in this special little pocket of coast, was with bec, over ten years ago… when we had some of our wedding photos taken. recently, we celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary and I took a look back at some of those photos. I looked like… and felt like… just a kid (I was I suppose)! this week, bec, addie, spence & I took a little walk down there so that I could take some pics of bec… our third bub on board, at sixteen weeks. as we wandered around, I looked at our little family, what we have created over the past years, what we are creating now, and I imagined… coming back here again, in the next few years, looking back at these pictures, this little part of our story and hearing addie, spence and our next little blessing telling me how ‘back then’ they look like ‘little kids’… it is always so nice when you can take a minute, get a bit still, and have a think about where you are in your story… right now. what it looks like, how it makes you feel. here’s a little look at bec… feeling great, looking beautiful as ever, getting her energy back, excitement building… and our little kidlets. exploring, running, being near the sea… being our little story.

sarah humphreys… hello

each time that I am asked, each time that I allowed… to tell someones story, to document a time that means a great deal to someone… I feel more and more privileged. I feel a great sense of responsibility when someone asks me to see, and then to capture, memories for them to cherish, on their behalf. so when sarah humphreys asked me to come along to the rhythm hut and document her releasing her brand new album ‘hello’, I couldn’t believe it. I have been a fan of sarah’s music, her honest and inspired lyricism… her story telling, for such a long time. so I was absolutely honoured to spend some time capturing an afternoon and an evening… sarah, jude, paul, just hanging out, setting up, sound-checking, relaxing, writing a set list, and then… doing what sarah does. sharing, singing, playing… telling some of her story… to some of her many, many dedicated fans and followers… of which, I, definitely, am one.

sarah’s new album ‘hello’ is, simply… wonderful. if you haven’t yet had a listen… do so over here.

no doubt, if you’re a central coast local and you haven’t already bought tickets to see sarah (along with the supremely talented mike mccarthy) play at the glass onion society tomorrow (yes tomorrow) night… you’ll be doing that right now!

a little bit of news…

those of you who know bec (my wife) and I, and some of our story, will know that even to have been blessed with our first little princess… addison, was nothing short of a miracle. so that makes this little bit of news… that the third little ferris is to be arriving in april next year, even that little bit more special. throughout the time that bec has been pregnant with our two kiddies, I really didn’t take the opportunity to capture our story, document that period in our lives… which is why, this time, for baby number three… I will! here’s a few little pics of bec, glowing at twelve weeks, as well as some pics of the most excited brother and sister I’ve ever seen… I definitely won’t bombard this space with anything too overwhelming, but I will share a bit of this story with you over the coming months…

the ghost family

homes play such a defining role in our lives… so true for these guys. when I spent a morning with the ghosts recently, it was in their beautiful home which they had painstakingly renovated… their family home, created with their own vision, their own blood sweat and tears, and dearly loved by their beautiful kids (of which buddy the collie is included)! we spent a morning together there, just before they were due to move out… preparing to find their next family home, the next home that will be filled with different memories, where different milestones and achievements will be celebrated… a home that will define a different time in their lives. I have no doubt that the memories created here are permanent, cherished and already remembered… but, we took some photos of some anyway!

welcome to the world… nate matthew forsythe

this weekend I got to meet my new nephew… nate matthew forsythe. and I know I may be biased, but he is seriously, as cute as they come. seeing this little guy, with his big sister and a couple of his cousins, aunts and uncles, nannie & poppy… brand new at just one day old gave me a little glimpse into the future of our family. and it looks good… welcome to the world nate, we can’t wait to get to know you…
