bec… 16 weeks

there are so many places just around the corner from home that hold a special place and a special piece of the story of my life so far. the last time that I had some photos taken in this special little pocket of coast, was with bec, over ten years ago… when we had some of our wedding photos taken. recently, we celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary and I took a look back at some of those photos. I looked like… and felt like… just a kid (I was I suppose)! this week, bec, addie, spence & I took a little walk down there so that I could take some pics of bec… our third bub on board, at sixteen weeks. as we wandered around, I looked at our little family, what we have created over the past years, what we are creating now, and I imagined… coming back here again, in the next few years, looking back at these pictures, this little part of our story and hearing addie, spence and our next little blessing telling me how ‘back then’ they look like ‘little kids’… it is always so nice when you can take a minute, get a bit still, and have a think about where you are in your story… right now. what it looks like, how it makes you feel. here’s a little look at bec… feeling great, looking beautiful as ever, getting her energy back, excitement building… and our little kidlets. exploring, running, being near the sea… being our little story.

a little bit of news…

those of you who know bec (my wife) and I, and some of our story, will know that even to have been blessed with our first little princess… addison, was nothing short of a miracle. so that makes this little bit of news… that the third little ferris is to be arriving in april next year, even that little bit more special. throughout the time that bec has been pregnant with our two kiddies, I really didn’t take the opportunity to capture our story, document that period in our lives… which is why, this time, for baby number three… I will! here’s a few little pics of bec, glowing at twelve weeks, as well as some pics of the most excited brother and sister I’ve ever seen… I definitely won’t bombard this space with anything too overwhelming, but I will share a bit of this story with you over the coming months…

happy birthday benny… the gleeson family (a preview)

today, september 1st is the birthday of a lifelong friend. when I saw ben today, he was at the helm of his new lolo espresso machine, passionately making coffee at glee erina heights. he was totally in his element… serving others. you wouldn’t know it, but just as today, september 1 began a new season, so to, did a new season begin for benny. ben is starting 3 months of chemo for cancer on monday. and this will be the second time that he has embarked on this battle. ben is a man of faith, filled with love for others and a gentleman by its true meaning. I will share some more of the day that ben, jemima, adele, coco, violet and I spent earlier this week here soon, but today, I just wanted to say happy birthday ben. you are an inspiration, and you are loved and supported by many. we are here for you…

the oldfield family

when I spent an afternoon with the oldfield family recently, I had the opportunity to share in what was, quite simply, family… doing their thing. nathan oldfield is a passionate surfer, filmmaker, photographer and board shaper amongst other things creative. and if you know nath, you will clearly know his undying passion for the sea and everything that relates… it was with this in mind that during the afternoon, I caught a glimpse… a glimpse of contentment… this family, surrounded by sandstone cliffs, the still ocean and spectacular national park… truly content. I was truly humbled to just share some time chatting, laughing and experiencing what, as a family, these guys really cherish. watching their kids delight in making juice, tending the bonsai, and taking a trip down to a place that holds such an incredible and emotional place in the very heart of this family was, without doubt, a privilege and an honour. nath, eliza, noa, blossom & river… thank you.
