angela & marty… not long to go

next month I’ll be telling the story of angela and marty’s wedding day. I won’t say much, save for the fact, that this day is going to be incredible. it will be small, intimate, and in all ways… seriously wonderful. I’ll be bringing my friend jo along, and together, we will tell their wonderful story. recently we spent the afternoon with angela & marty and got a bit more of a glimpse of how special their day will be. keep your eyes peeled… this is one you wont want to miss…

bec… 24 weeks

there are some times in life when time just seems to stand still and you find yourself feeling as though you are actually taking the time to look at what is happening around you, and absorb what’s going on, rather than just being carried along with it, at what seems to be an all too familiar frenetic pace… last weekend we had one of those days. bec has been owed, for some time now (by me) a day of all things retro and vintage. a day to shop, wander, eat, relax, and connect. so on the weekend, with neither of our usual ‘energy factories’ in tow, we took some time out. we headed up to a favourite little novocastrian spot that we love, with the express intention of finding some great cafe fare, browsing shops for as long as was deemed necessary, maintaining un-interupted adult style conversation, and swimming in the sea. what resulted was a blissful day that seemed like it would never end… just what was needed to remind us that no matter how busy life may seem, no matter how carried away we can become with the day to day… it doesn’t take much to slow down a notch and relish in life’s experiences.

(note: bec is now 24 weeks pregnant with our third child… experiences as described above may well be few and far between from this point forward!)

looking back… 2012

when I set out to grow this little business about a year ago, I never thought I would experience what I have so far. this year, I have been privileged to be able to spend time with some incredible people and share so many special moments… both to them, and I. I’ve shot some beautiful weddings and some incredible families. I’ve also shared some special news and special times from within my own little family… what I have taken away from this year though, is the relationships that I’ve formed, the stories that I have been able to be a part of, and in turn, been able to share. 2013 is going to be a fantastic year… with more stories to tell, weddings to experience and early on, a brand new website to share with you… I’m super excited about what’s ahead. I hope that you and your families have had a wonderful christmas and that you have a truly wonderful new year. you may have seen some of these special moments already throughout the year… but in looking back, here are some that I have found particularly special… families, weddings, babies, pregnancy, kids, mums, dads, husbands and wives…

bec… 20 weeks

half way! sometime towards the end of the coming twenty weeks, bec will bring our third little blessing into the world and life will change, once again. I must say that I am truly enjoying quietly watching bec, addie & spencer see bec’s tummy grow (that bump is surely coming along now) and watching as the kids slowly begin to realise that there really is a brand new baby brother or sister growing in there that they we will all be able to meet… pretty soon! around here, summer has arrived with winter like temperatures, clouds, rain… and in our house, two sick little kids and a sick pregnant lady. earlier in the week though, we grabbed a bit of time and wandered down the road where we admired the sea and explored some of its shore… collected, ran, jumped, got our feet wet, created drawings on rocks and breathed in the sea air (spence may have spent considerable time in awe of a concrete truck as well)…

20 week blog-11

the pogmore family…

a bit over a moth ago now, I shared with you some of the time I spent with sherridan, scott & willow, as they welcomed their new twin daughters (and twin sisters in willow’s case) into the world. a couple of weeks ago, I spent some more time with these guys, now settling in to their new life at home. I know sherridan & scott are sleep deprived. you could never tell. I know that they are feeling busy and tired. you could never tell. what you could tell… is how much they completely & utterly adore myla indigo & macy jade. I don’t know how they do it… but they truly make it look easy! they do what parents do. they do what family does. they love and support each other and their three beautiful little girls. they’ve got such a story to tell… and three adorable little girls to tell it about. but seriously… how they make it look so easy (and I know it’s not)… I’ll never know!

sarah humphreys… hello

each time that I am asked, each time that I allowed… to tell someones story, to document a time that means a great deal to someone… I feel more and more privileged. I feel a great sense of responsibility when someone asks me to see, and then to capture, memories for them to cherish, on their behalf. so when sarah humphreys asked me to come along to the rhythm hut and document her releasing her brand new album ‘hello’, I couldn’t believe it. I have been a fan of sarah’s music, her honest and inspired lyricism… her story telling, for such a long time. so I was absolutely honoured to spend some time capturing an afternoon and an evening… sarah, jude, paul, just hanging out, setting up, sound-checking, relaxing, writing a set list, and then… doing what sarah does. sharing, singing, playing… telling some of her story… to some of her many, many dedicated fans and followers… of which, I, definitely, am one.

sarah’s new album ‘hello’ is, simply… wonderful. if you haven’t yet had a listen… do so over here.

no doubt, if you’re a central coast local and you haven’t already bought tickets to see sarah (along with the supremely talented mike mccarthy) play at the glass onion society tomorrow (yes tomorrow) night… you’ll be doing that right now!

welcome to the world… myla indigo & macy jade pogmore

the creation of any new child is nothing short of a miracle, and always a blessing. you wouldn’t have to chat with sherridan or scotty for very long for them to tell you that themselves. this week, they welcomed myla indigo and macy jade into the world… beautiful, precious twin girls. they wanted me to capture some memories for them shortly after the girls were born… I was so lucky to spend some time meeting these beautiful twins when they were just shy of two days old. spending some time in the nursery with sherridan & scott, their little girl willow and their two brand new twins, I saw a family filled with love for these girls, and filled with thanks for the blessing that they are…

I’ll be spending some more time with these guys soon, when they’ve settled in at home, and I’ll be sharing that with you as well.
